Structured Dog Day School Handler (Full Time/Part Time available)

She's a Keeper is searching for a special person to join our talented, hard working team! This is a unique opportunity for someone that loves dogs, has a warm, friendly demeanor and is interested in in learning more about the field of dogs. This position offers hands on experience working with and sometimes assisting in training dogs, so if you're interested in becoming a dog trainer it is a great stepping stone. We are looking to hire a dog day school handler ideally Monday-Friday 8-4 or 10-6, possibly 11-3, but are flexible with hours for full and part time positions. The dog school handler would assist in managing the daycare pack and boarding pack as well as possibly pick up and drop off dogs. We hold very high standards of our daycare dogs so you would be training with them during the day to engage them mentally and physically and uphold the high standards we hold of well behaved dogs. You also must have great people skills and exude confidence and professionalism as you interact with clients on a daily basis.

We love helping people live happier, fuller lives with their dogs, starting with training. We help people train their dogs to fit their lifestyles and vice versa. We have 30 years of combined experience training dogs, including therapy dogs, competition and rally obedience, flyball, disc and dock diving competitions, and more. We are a balanced training team who use positive first techniques and all four quadrants in training. We utilize tools when appropriate, including electronic collars and prong collars. We offer private, in-home training sessions, private lessons at our facility, boarding, board and trains, daycare, therapy visits and more.

If you are an individual that loves dogs and works well independently while still getting the support of a dedicated dog training team this might be the job for you. Basic responsibilities may include:

  • Manage the dogs while they play outside and maintain high standards of behavior and training

  • Clean and organize the area where the dogs play and sleep

  • Interact professionally with clients and the rest of the team

  • Pick up and drop off dogs daily from their individual homes. You will use one of our company vans to transport dogs

Requirements to join the team:

She's a Keeper Dog Training is searching for a Professional Dog Trainer for private lessons and group classes to join our talented, hard working team! Our private trainers make 70% commission off all private lessons ($65,000-$110,000/year), plus health insurance, matching 401K, continued education reimbursements and more! This is a unique opportunity for a people person that loves dogs to help families care for and overcome challenges with their dogs. Our team has over 30 years of combined experience training dogs, including therapy dogs, competition and rally obedience, flyball and disc competitions, protection training, nose work, tracking and more. We are a balanced training team who use positive first techniques and all four quadrants in training. We utilize tools when appropriate, including electronic collars and prong collars. We offer private, in-home training sessions, private lessons at our facility, boarding, board and trains, daycare, therapy visits, dock diving and more. The private lesson trainer would be driving their personal vehicle to client's homes and to our facility in Stow, MA for lessons. Our training area includes Newton, Wellesley, Chestnut Hill, Weston, Wayland, Concord, Sudbury, Stow, Acton, Maynard, Bolton, Hudson, Marlborough and Harvard.

If you are an individual that has dog training experience (highly trained personal dogs count), great people skills and works well independently while still getting the support of a dedicated dog training team this might be the job for you! Our private lesson trainers have the flexibility to make their own schedules. We train 7 days a week and most trainers work 4-5 days a week with 4-5 lessons per day, but you can do more or less depending on your preference. Private lessons at our facility in Stow

Regular communication with training clients

Daily use of our business operating software, ProPet, to check in, schedule and modify lessons

Requirements to join the team:

A passion for dogs and training (dog training experience required, highly trained personal dogs count)

A genuine desire to teach dogs and owners to problem solve

Ability to adapt to different dog and owner temperaments

A good deal of love and patience for dogs and their owners

Reliable, dog-friendly vehicle and clean driving record

Ability to lift 50+ lbs
